National Summit in Chiba, 2012/10/8
The 10th Anniversary of Play Town in Japan

The first Play Town in Japan was held in Sakura-city, Chiba in 2002. It was the beginning of Play Town in Japan.
The idea of Play Town was originally introduced by Munich, Germany. The project dates back more than 30 years ago there in 1979.
Since then, Play Towns have spread in many cities around the world, including Europe, and Asia.
In Japan alone, about 80 Play Towns have been held nationwide up to 2012.

Each Play Town has its own way of framework and rules, however, many citizens are trying to approach this project aiming to create a better community with a support of citizens of all generations.

In this annual summit, participants will report their results and accomplishment so they can learn each other and let more people know the importance of this idea. The meeting is open to anyone who is interested in Play Town.

This year, Play Town commemorate its 10th anniversary in Japan.
Three Play Towns' organizers in the three cities in Chiba prefecture, Ichikawa, Sakura and Chiba will co-host the national summit.
We’re pleased to hold this event in Chiba, the place where the Play Town in Japan started 10 years ago.
